Best I've found along the east coast

yes, its in the middle of nowhere, but its so worth the trip! I go anytime I drive down route 11 from Hartford to the CT/RI shoreline. I have lived everywhere from Boston to Baltimore and this is, by far the best ice cream I have ever tasted.
- Pros: best tasting, authetic
- Cons: middle of nowhere
Best Quaint ice cream place in Connecticut

Salem Valley Farms Ice cream is the greatest! It's located in a country area, with a rock parking lot. There are hundreds of flavors! It is all homemade icecream. Your kids will love it! Prices are pretty cheap too! $3.00 for good quality ice cream.
- Pros: Many flavors to choose from; family orientated; not your ordinary chocolate and vanilla ice cream; freindly and fast service
- Cons: restrooms
refreshing drive

I find Salem Valley Farms a fun place to visit on a hot summer night. It is quite a drive from just about anywhere!! Coming from west of the Ct River, try taking the ferry from Chester across the river.
- Pros: excellent ice cream, numerous flavors, friendly
- Cons: , improve restrooms
