Not as good as they think they are. I went to Modesto's 10 years ago and swore I'd never go back. I had a snotty waiter who provided mediocre service, a so-so meal and a whopping big bill.

I went again a few weeks ago. I wanted to go somewhere to sit down and talk. I didn't feel like dealing with the casino scene. My options seemed limited. Besides, I wanted to give Modesto's another chance; it'd been a while and some poeple that I work with go all the time.

The service was much better, but the food was still mediocre. My entree was overcooked and soggy (fish) with too much sauce. It could have been a lot better. It seemed like the cook was trying to put out fine dining but completely lacked the talent to do so. It is also still overpriced for the quality.

Average eatery dressed up like gourmet. I was hoping to give my mother a nice evening out for Mother's Day. Modesto's has a very pleasing atmosphere with fairly prompt and friendly servers. However, our party of seven was seated at a table with a broken hinge. A waiter came out, flipped up the cloth and messed with the table top for several mintues only to rest it at the same angled position with no apologies. My father had to eat his food at a slant. To be fair, the food was good. The meal unfortunately started with a wilted salad. I had a small bed of soft lettuce surrounded by one anemic slice of tomato, one slice of bruised cucumber. one olive, and one hot pepper. My salmon was moist and flaky and vegetables cooked well; tender without being overcooked. It almost seems as though this restaraunt desperately wants to be classy, but doesn't quite know how to pull it off. You can honestly get a comparable (even better) meal elsewhere at a much lower price!

Good Food, Nice Setting, Great Desserts. I recently came across this restaurant. This was the first time I eat here. Loved the food, it was so delicious! and the pricing was very reasonable. Oh and those dessert . . . they were amazing. The servers were very friendly
