“Service is informed and swift--all in all, a refined but notably unstuffy special occasion meal.”
The maritime theme gets modernized in a waterfront boite..
The Scene
The boats and the booms (from which the eatery takes its name) loom over this room's prettiest tables, which face the marina. Old, glass-covered nautical charts top tables, and the clink of wine glasses mixes with light conversation throughout the cozy dining area. Service is informed and swift--all in all, a refined but notably unstuffy special occasion meal.
The Food
Seafood takes center stage here; heed the call of seared salmon with juicy artichoke hearts with diced tomatoes. Or dig into the Stonington scallops with roasted red pepper curry sauce, or a plate of flaky native flounder with orange-basil sauce. A simple chocolate ganache rounds things out nicely for dessert.
Great Spot. I've been to many restaurants in the area and this spot is great, probably the best ambiance around and the best food in Stonington along with Water St. Cafe.
