Courtesy of the Mashantucket Pequots (pronounced "Pee-kwats"), this 4.7 million square-foot complex offers something for everyone. At its heart is a gambling compound containing a 5,000-seat bingo hall, a computerized horse-betting parlor with live race footage from around the nation, several giant rooms housing every game from craps to baccarat and a monster space with 4,500 slot machines. The drinks are free as long as you're playing at the tables. And if you like your gambling smoke-free, you can have that, too. Foxwoods also contains the only poker room in New England. When your luck turns sour, you can explore 14 restaurants, a fitness center, an IMAX-style cinema and G-rated virtual-reality amusement center. The 30-story MGM Grand added another two million square-feet to the complex, including 825 guest rooms and suites, a 21,000-square-foot spa, 4,000-seat MGM Grand Theater and four restaurants.
